This is my new collection incorporating Resin finish. Larger pieces consists of number of smaller abstract paintings set together and finished as one unified artwork. For example, in pieces that are 24 x 36 inches I use 9 paintings plus one that I cut into slices and use them as spacers. So then one painting contains 10 abstracts.
I use acrylic paint, silver or gold leaf, liquid chromium and metallic oil pastels. All is then finished with a layer of clear resin. Gallery quality resin I use is chemically engineered to offer the most efficient protection on the market today. It has no VOC vapors and is food safe. I prefer this expensive formula as it has HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer) added for extremely efficient long-term yellowing protection as well as gallery UV stabilizer which protects the artwork from gloss loss.
Pieces in this collection have often kind of Neolithic art style to compliment Ultra contemporary backgrounds. I find this style and time period contradiction very appealing. Many of my pieces capture suggestions of “time“ in physical form as well with pocket watch faces. Reminder that Time, our Time living, is the most valuable asset anybody can have and each of us decide individually how to use it.
You can view or purchase most of these pieces at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art Paradigm gallery which exclusively represents my artwork in NE Indiana.
