"I think every artist carries inside his own world and tries to depict it. Most likely it's truly escape from the real world. When somebody asks me what am I escaping from? I say: just turn-on TV and think about what you are being served! I like the opposite - the stillness and mystery of Nature and all that's connected with it - including people as part of it." Francois Bacon once said: ‘The job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery.’ ...and that is what I am trying to do the most. I am really happy and satisfied when people look at my artwork and try to find something more, if they sense some story or think of what I wanted to say."
"We learn to do something by doing it, so I also still learn from my mistakes. I believe that each new painting is a bit better than the one before and that is what I try to teach my young art students.
